    Revo Pro Cleanup

Have and still are using Ace Utilities for junk files and registry cleaning. No problems. Recently purchased Revo Pro uninstaller and so far like it. Curious about the Junk file cleanup, has anybody used this?

Curious because it has found files that Ace has ignored for years.

I have used it once before. Generally I forget that Revo and CCleaner have many additional functions beside what their main functions are. I have not found anything in Revo that does not work as expected.

It appears to be working fine on my PC also. It's always a little spooky when trying a new application. More so when a dummy is in charge of the PC.

I have always created an Image just before doing something like this. Then if things go awry I can restore to just before the problem started.

Did you find the PC runs any better after cleaning the registry? I have never cleaned the registry on my Windows 7 PC and find its performance to be as good as it was when Windows 7 was released. A CCleaner scan shows over a hundred issues but it doesn't appear to affect my operation at all. In my experience, cleaning the registry may make you feel good but has no measurable impact on Windows operation and can break things in some situations. Always make an image or at a minimum a System Restore Point before cleaning the registry.

I'm not sure the reason for cleaning is as much to speed up the process (Some says it has some affect, others say it does not) so much as to attempt to prevent possible future conflicts with these orphaned entries. I do not know what the future may bring, but if I can prevent a problem in the future by carefully pruning the orphaned entries today. I generally only use the registry cleaner after uninstalling an app, even with Revo Pro, to weed out leftovers from the uninstalled apps.
