    Switch to wired connection?

I have a Win7 laptop (Pro 64 bit) connected wirelessly to a WinXP machine through an old Linksys WRT54GS router.

I wanted to drop the wireless connection for now and use a wired connection, which I think will be faster than the wireless connection. I have a large collection of files I want to transfer (in the hundreds of GB). The wireless connection only transfers at 2MB/sec.

I terminated the wireless connection from the Win7 laptop. But I can't seem to figure out HOW to make the wired connection now.

    Can anyone help?

Go to Network Sharing Center, select change Network Adapter. Select the network adapter you wish to use (Ethernet adapter) and enable it. You might also disable the wireless adapter through here.
