Hi All,
Has anyone tried

    Hi All,
Has anyone tried the XP Icons on their 98SE ? I downloaded the program and am curious if it uses a lot of resources, and if it works and looks better.I was going to install it,but have found sometimes it's best to ask first, rather than after messing it up lol. Thanks for any info ;-) ,Tuff

    Edited to add url code

    Hi Dave,
Sorry it took so long to answer but have had company.I tried it from this place, and I didn't like it at all lol.I don't think 98SE is included, and that is what I'm using.Maybe it would work on 98 but I also thought it was freeware, and it says shareware.Tuff

Yes, it is shareware "To purchase registered version click here: $19.95"

I do not see anything that is worth buying this for. If you want the look of XP, I would install XP.

...and from what I have heard and read about XP, I think I'll stick to 98SE

..then you haven't been listening in the right places.
If anyone asked, I'd maybe not recommend an upgrade from Windows 2000 to XP, but from 98SE to XP? Every time. But I wouldn't do it 'over the top'.
Clean Install of the Upgrade version is the way to go.
I have all 3 on my system in a multiple boot scenario and I know which I prefer...

Yup, I think you have been listening to some good advice. WIN 98 does not include that abomination known as the Registration/Activation Wizard.

What have you read and heard, other than "Registration/Activation Wizard" that you do NOT care for about Windows XP?

I have been using Windows XP since Beta1 and have NOT have problems that have not been solved. There are some people that will NOT use XP because they have a thorn about "Registration/Activation" But news to them, is that MS will be using it on ALL news releases including the games. Also several other software makers are looking into a similar process.
