Locked out of Control Panel and all it's applets

I've been rebuilding my system for the last coupla days. Today I noticed I couldn't launch the control panel. Tried all kinds of work arounds, but nothing will run. Even hotkeys won't work. Scanned for nasties with mse Malaware-bytes. None detected.
Don't have dual monitors which fooled some people.

    Appreciate some help with this.
    Thnx

Try opening an Administrative Command Prompt (Programs, Windows System, right click on command prompt and choose Run As Administrator)

    Type: sfc /scannow

    Press Enter

    Thnx for the reply

Yeah, I've been putting this off... hoping for another solution. I just installed all windows updates and running this util means I may have to do most of them again.
But, probably will have to do it.
