    Rule misbehaves in Outlook 2010

I get e-mail from SourceForge.net. I want specific e-mails at different times. SO, I want to send it all to trash EXCEPT a given item or topic.

Attached is an example of both a message header and the applicable rule that should send it all except the items as specified. But the items aren't being filtered. They are end up as spam/junk.

What Ami doing wrongly with this rule?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Make sure the sending address is in your safe senders list. I think the junk rule takes precedence over your own rules.

Rui, I don't use the Outlook junk option. I use a separate spam service. But, when I went to check to be sure, the Junk icon on the Home tab is grayed out and not available. How come?

So in which junk folder do your messages end up?

Rui, they're ending up in the Spam folder.

Also, I found how to re-initialize the Junk MAil:

It is Outlook's native one, named Junk E-Mail or one created by your spam app?

I am sorry, I think I didn't read your message properly or maybe it was the initial lack of the attachment. The rule does move stuff to the Spam folder, it's just not recognizing the exception...

Rui, yes, it is the program's Spam folder, and yes, it is the exception that is being missed.

You should add a "Stop processing more rules" to prevent other rules from affecting the email. Remember, Outlook runs all rules in order from top to bottom unless "Stop processing more rules" is present.

Can you specify the exception before the move command? Ie immediately after the source forge statement.

Jerry, I didn't know there was a way to control the order in which the statements were applied.

The rules are constructed correctly as you have them. That is just the way Outlook does it.
