Paul Thurrott has been telling anyone who will listen or read that Win8 is a new PC and especially new device market OS; that to get the most out of it requires something with touch capability and it remains to be seen just like any new product, who offers the one or several that combine the best of usability and price. Microsoft might get a little worried if there's too many products that could potentially be of inferior production and function, but hopefully they'll be "weeded" out quickly by early adopters without casting a shadow on the whole paradigm. In other words, hopefully there will be some big stars too because a whole string of so-so products would be bad, meaning the OS isn't up to snuff.
