    Can't read CDs

2 of my CDs when inserted into my CD drive can't be read - the indicator light flashes on and off as usual at first, then stays on permanently and explorer can't read the directory etc. This started very recently - the Cds are both about a year old - my other CDs work normally - at least I've tried 10 and they old do.
I really need to get at the data and programs on the seemingly faulty CDs - is there anything you can suggest?
    Pleeeeeese!

Have you tried them in another CD reader?

    Re: Can't read CDs

I couldn't reply before - I was traveling - didn't have access to another reader!
Yes, they read OK in another reader. Now I've tried about 20 CDs in the CD reader of my Toshiba portable - all OK except for these 3 - some I tried were Commercial, others 'home-made' - all worked OK except this particular 3 - is there any way to adjust a CD drive's 'sensitivity'
    Please help/advise

    best regards

    Ken

Stupid question maybe. Have you cleaned the CD's?
