    Newbies vs Windows 8

Interesting that a Mac expert had the easiest time picking up on the UI.

    Interesting article.

Two days ago I decided to give the Win8 Consumer Preview, build 8250, a spin to see if the $15 upgrade for my new computer was worth the change.

Too much frustration with the default setup.

I may be a Luddite, but at least I'm not $15 poorer for the experience.

Since I don't need the upgrade, I intend to wait and see what's available in the future.

This is interesting. Thanks for the post Jerry. It doesn't appear to be the complete bomb that some expected, but no doubt there is room for improvement. SP1 or SP2 will likely offer some enhancements to the user experience, but don't expect the Start Menu to be restored.

Nothing wrong with that. If you are happy with the setup you have, there is no reason to upgrade.

I found the speed increase on my laptop made it worthwhile to me. My desktop run just fine with Windows 7 and I have no plans to upgrade it. Other than performance, I found no compelling reason to upgrade and my desktop is speedy enough with Windows 7. Maybe if someone develops a killer Metro app, I might change my mind.
