    .doc to .docx ?

Hello. As W-8 will not use my old standby, Office 2k, I upgraded to Office 2010, yeah ! Is there a way to modify all my .doc to .docx in a sweeping move or do I have to do them all one by one in Save As -> ? Time taking this is. JP.

Office 2010 opens both of these. Why do you have to convert them? I have both .doc and .docx on my PC. They co-exist very effectively. Plus if you have to send some to others that do not have newer versions of Office you have to convert them back first. Why bother when Office 2010 likes both?

Good point, Medico. I had not played with 2010 long enough to decide. I will let sleeping dog lie. JP.

Yes JP, Office 2010 will work with both these file extensions without a second thought. In fact to assure being able to send to others using earlier versions of Office, Office 2010 allows you to save as either .docx or .doc file types, or both if you wish (one save at a time not saving to both at the same time).
