Firefox won't copy over all my IE9 Favorites

I run IE9 under W7 Home Premium. I wanted to install FireFox as a backup browser.
My IE9 Favorites are organized in 9 Folders. When I install FireFox and tell it to copy over
all my IE9 settings etc., it only copies over the first 2 folders of my Favorites as bookmarks.

Is there a problem with FireFox as to the number of Favorites it can copy over; or is it the
    "nut behind the wheel"?

I would appreciate any help offered.

    Thanks,
    Dick

Good morning "Nut". When I previously install FF as a backup, it worked fine and imported all my favorites. Did you use the Import function in FF, or just tried to copy the favorites into the FF folder? That's the only suggestion I would have. I do not use or know much about FF.

    Hi Ted:
Sorry for the delay in responding. I had changed my modem (so as to avoid a monthly Time-Warner lease fee), and it took them over 4 hours off and on to put my new modem's mac address into their system.

Anyway, I used the import function in FF. If I wanted to copy all my IE9 favorites, what's the name of the FF folder to copy them in to?
    Thanks,
    Dick

You would not copy them in but rather "Import" them in.
In FF select 'Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks' In the Dialog click "Import and Backup" then "Import Data from another Browser" Select the box next to "Favorites" only. If they are not all there, then you may have some of your IE Bookmarks hidden or in a different location or profile.
I would move them all into the active profile's "Favorites" and Import again.

That didn't work for me. Before following your steps FF had copied over 3 folders of my Favorites.
Now, after your steps, I have those 3 and a new one called "From Internet Explorer", and inside are the same 3 original ones.

Sorry 'bout that. Good thing it is easy to delete duplicates.
I'm not very familiar with IE but I do know that FF will import all valid URLs in my Profile's "Favorites" directory including all sub directories.
Can you verify that all URLs that you need are in there and are valid URLs?

The ones copied over to FF are valid. I tried a few. The problem is, as I said above, FF doesn't copy all my IE9 Favorite folders over.

    Maybe we need more information.
Where are the ones that don't copy over in what directory within "Favorites", Root or sub?
Are they marked there as "URL"?
Are they in the Bookmark Tool Bar?
How many are there that do import?
    How many do not?
Can you post an example of each?

Thanks for working with me on this. I'm afraid I lost patience, and gave up on FF as a backup to IE9.
I used Revo to remove FF from my system.

Hi Dick, I know you have deleted FF but made this for you in case you try it again. Bookmarks IE to FF.docx

Thanks. Based on your write-up I decided to reinstall FF and try again.
    Your procedure worked perfectly.
    Thanks again,
