Hardware and software with Win 8

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. I'm thinking of upgrading to Win 8. I've run the upgrade assistant but it doesn't tell me anything about my scanner and printer. I've checked on the MS compatibility site, and that says my Canon Pixma ip4500 is compatible, but the community rating says only 7 out of 26 votes says it compatible. Which do I believe?
I've found drivers for my Epson Perfection 4490 Photo Scanner for Win 8 (64 bit) so I assume that it will work.
The other problem is with Office 2003 - I have the Pro version, but the assistant says it's not compatible. I gather that it's something to do with Foxpro and installing anyway will work. But will this mean that an error message will come up every time I use Word, Access etc.?
    Thanks
    Malcolm

See this article from Office-watch.com - Office compatibility with Windows 8. It appears that the error will continue to appear.

I have office 2003 pro installed and have not gotten any error messages to date. Have only used word so far, but have used it several times.

Thanks Rich, the link Joe supplied (which I had already seen, but thanks anyway) isn't clear about how often the error message shows up. Looks like it might only be the once or even only when installing. It's Access I use so that's the one I would really like to know about.

Now for answers about the printer!

I have a Pixma MP620. I used the Win 7 Network driver (The Win 8 driver was not a network driver) and it worked fine. The My Printer and Navigator S/W was the same for both Win 7 and Win 8. I have all functions I had in Win 7.
