    Win 7 Networking

I am currently running XP on my desktop and have a Netbook sharing the printer and accessing the Internet through a wireless router. I am now moving up to Win 7 and from my reading it seems that the Win 7 Home Group does not allow sharing except between two machines running Win 7. Is this true? Does it mean that I wil llose the ability to access the Internet or print from my Netbook running XP?

Your internet access won't be affected by it. Regarding the homegroup, if you have no other Windows 7 computers, you can simply disable it. Even if you had it enabled, you could still configure the computer to enable file sharing with XP.

The portion of Win 7 which is more secure during networking is when you are accessing your Win 7 PC from the XP PC's. You will have to set up Advanced Sharing in Win 7. Just ensure your workgroup name and password are identical with the Win XP PC and set up sharing in Win 7 and all should work.
