    Windows Fax and Scan/Windows 7

Hi: When I had XP & Vista I could send Faxs no problem. Since I changed to Win 7 I get a No dial tone message. I have swopped out the modem, the telephone connection lead, tried a different phone socket [both do have dial tones] and searched the web & tried everything I could find, changing permissions, latest driver etc. with no joy. Swop the modem back to my XP machine, it works but the reason to change was to dump the old machine. Any ideas please? Dave

In Device Manager is your modem listed? Right clicking > Properties will bring up a place to run a diagnostic.. (Query modem) Does that work? Do the other settings look reasonable.
