    kb2756872

Hello. Twice today, I have had to see a "Reverting changes" after an Update. I then selected the 12 important and 1 optional updates, one at the time, and saved this a/m KB 2756872 for later, not done yet and not D/Ling it has not produced this reverting again. Has anybody else lived the same experience ? It is a large one, 169.9 MBs. Jean.

Perhaps downloading from the download center will be successful.

Maybe so, Ted. What do you make of this RT qualifier in all of them ?

    This stuff, Ted ?

There is only one that's listed as KB 2756872. I would try that one.

That update installed on my laptop on 11/2 without incident.

RE: kb2756872 Ted, I used your link to see if I could install this a/n .msu but it again did not like my machine. I will do a chkdsk today to see if it finds anything. Jean.

Hi, all. Well, I did the chkdsk and again attempted to install this .msu, still no go. It goes to 94%, stops and undoes the install, my next move is to install a virgin HD into my machine and redo W-8 all by itself, nothing added that I normally place in this machine, just to see if the KB2756872 really does not like my machine's MoBo or what ? This might take a few days, I have to look at what HD I can use. Wish me luck. Jean.

Ted, your good wish worked but it was tedious. I now have this .msu done ! The famous 2756872. I did as I mentioned, connect one SATA HD to the machine, blank, and loaded the .iso from the burnt DVD. I then went to Updates and only selected this tough kiddie, it installed. Yeah ! I still have no idea of where the bone can be in my machine, I will now redo all that I need and see if it keeps running. Jean.

I am so glad it worked. Now get everything else installed and customized the way you want it and make your first Image!

    Hello, Ted.
You might be thrilled to know that my machine is now closed up. I finished doing the many clones and it is running fine with the .5 tera HD in use as before and as desired. Why going to a very simple installation allowed this install of .msu 27566872 and afterward, the install of all my apps, and that it did not find this conflict again, is totally beyond me. I have the procedure down pat now if ever needed again, I hope not. Thanks for moral support. Jean.

    Very good.

By the way, I saw in another thread: Win + X, Command Prompt (Admin) very quick and easy.
