    iPhone needs WEP?

I heard on the radio this AM that if one is having trouble with wifi on your iPhone at home that Apple is telling people they need to set their wireless router to WEP security to correct the problem.
Does this make sense to you all?

Another version of "you're holding your phone wrong"?! Advising WEP is just plain stupid, as any script kid can hack into your WEP (un)protected wireless network. Shows how reckless Apple is about security, IMHO.

The only thing I could find about it is http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 where they don't advise using WEP, but say "If you are using WEP security and have multiple WEP keys on your Wi-Fi router, try configuring your Wi-Fi router to use only a single WEP key in key index 1"
Nothing I found suggested they were promoting WEP.
