How do you find your IP Address?

    Hi,

I just wanted to know where I look to find my IP address. Thank you for any guidance you can give me.

ipconfig /all gives addresses and physical addresses (MAC addresses) for all communication devices on your PC.

Are you talking about the internal 'LAN' address of your PC (answers given above) or the external 'WAN' address, by which your router is addressed by 'the internet' (for which see, for example, whatismyip.com)?

Thanks Joe, Medico and BATcher. I was referring to both the internal LAN and the external WAN addresses. You all have answered my question.

Each of you have a wonderful Holiday season and New Year.

    Hi,
    There are two IP address:
    1)Public ip address(Static and Dynamic)
    2)Private or Local Ip address
    Public IP address:
It is the one provided to you by your ISP.This is the address which will be visible in the internet. It can be found by visiting sites like IP-Details.com .
    Private IP address:
Private IP addresses are typically used on local area networks like School,College, etc.,It can be found by Start->Run->Cmd->type "ipconfig" and enter.
