    Upgrading Be Careful

Well was not sure where to put this but dumped it on W7, Fired up PC this morning and the Adobe Flash Player upgrade notice popped up. I clicked it and it took me to the website to get the download and the window opens up and the printing etc is very small but you can see the yellow download button, I decided to put my glasses on and Lo And Behold there is also some kind/type of McCaffee scan program already pre-checked that they are gonna install for me.

10 years ago Mccafee garbage just about killed a PC of mine and it irks me that they would want to dump this stuff on unsuspecting PC owners. I wonder how many people do not put their glasses on and get stuck.

I know there are many people that use McCaffee and that's fine, if I want it I'll buy it and install it, don't need that sneaky install stuff.

Sorry just had to vent/rant a bit.

Good for you putting on your glasses and reading the small print. There have been times in the past where Adobe was loaded with these piggy backed apps. McAfee is in pretty bad straights with many people dumping it. That's one reason why you see it on many new PC's. They pay to have their junk included.

I especially like the not being able to zoom in, normally on most websites I can hold ctrl and scroll to zoom up and my Logitech mouse has a button setup for zoom and scroll zoom, neither one worked. Actually most websites glasses are not necessary.

Yes it seems Norton and McAffee have the necessary funds to put their products anywhere wanted or not.

It's not just Adobe, more and more you find these tiny little check-boxes stashed on download/install boxes. Invariably the boxes are checked, toolbars, scans, cra*pware. Never, ever, click without looking twice, and then once more to be sure to be sure.
