Permanently save custom number format for all workbooks

If I understand correctly, I can save a number format in a given workbook or in a template. Is there a way to save it in Personal.xlsb so that I can use it in all of my workbooks? For example, I want to store mm/dd/yyy hh:mm so I don't have to edit the similar, installed format every time. Thanks.

Change the format in a blank worksheet then save it as a template. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...005199391.aspx Then click on "Save workbook settings you want to use every time you start Excel with a workbook template (book.xlt)" for instructions.

Thanks very much, Maudibe. That will work well if I open Excel and create a workbook. It doesn't, however, seem to work if I open a CSV file that I created by exporting data from another application or open a previously created Excel file. Perhaps that can't be done.
