eliminate executable warning message? (PowerPoint 2000, SR-1)

I have an action button on a slide that calls an executable. Each time I click on the button in presentation mode, I get a warning message that running programs can be hazardous to my health [or words to that effect ;-)> ].

Is there a way to eliminate the warning? Changing the macro security settings didn't change anything.

    Thanks.

I think this post <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q212/2/90.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=warning&rnk=2&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_ SRCH&SPR=PPT2000>OFF2000: "Open Programs" Message Appears When You Click Hyperlink to Program</A> from the knowledge base answers your question.
    In a nutshell:
"you can also use the Run Program option to bypass the message"

    Cheers

Thanks, Catherine, however, I had already tried the run program option with the same result -- I still get the warning message. I don't suppose this is a huge problem, but I don't like the to startle my audiences with unnecessary popups and the MS "ding" warning sound.

It just seems to me that in the vastness of Office options, there ought to be a way to turn this thing off...

"...vastness of Office options..." yeah, except for PowerPoint. Must be a step child of some sort. Oh, that's right- it is!!

Hmmm, I tested based on the instructions in the link and it worked for me.
However - 2 things have to be done.
    1. Set your security to the lowest level.
    2. Include the path to the file the application will launch.

    Perhaps this depends on your setup? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
