hp c309a printer causing general protection fault

I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. 3 other pc's in my home can print, but when I try to install and print to HP Photosmart all in one c309a, it will not print. Everything says it installed correctly, but does not print the test page. Then when clicking on printer properties, I always get the same error message.

Function address ??????????? caused a protection fault.
Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed."

I have installed the HP update file, "Windows 7 Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection" with no luck.

    Thanks for your help!!

I used 2 of HP's diagnostic utilities. HP hardware diagnostic utilily 3.1 found no errors and even successfully printed a test page. HP print and scan doctor found a driver conflict. The only solution it gave to correct this problem is to uninstall and reinstall. I've done that a million times... on maybe 7 times...

    Tim,
Hello...Try looking in "System Configuration" make sure anything associated with your printer is checked .. Also give a look see Control panel>All Control panel items> Devices and Printers> "your model"> Customize your printer> select a printer>your printer properties>Advanced, and all the rest of the settings.. See screen shots... Regards Fred

Everything is checked in system configuration. I tried unchecking everything non Microsoft in the services tab, unchecking everything in startup tab and even tried safe boot. Everything looks good on the advanced tab in printer properties. Thanks for your help!!

You helped someone back in March with the same problem so I already went though all your suggestions from this post.
