Cursor not displayed in online forms

When using IE9 in Win7 I find that the cursor does not show up when typing in some online forums and other forms. Note that I am talking about the little flashing I and not the actual mouse cursor. I can click where I want to type but otherwise do not know where I am typing. It is working fine in this forum but in Android Central's forums or on Craigslist, the cursor is not displayed and I have to guess where it is located.

This does not happen using Chrome but I believe I have seen it in Firefox (but do not currently have that installed. I have also seen this in multiple computers.

Has anyone else seen this and know of a fix?

    TIA
    Walter

This might actually be a setting in the mouse. Control Panel, Mouse:

That box was not checked but that gave me an idea. I generally run IE at 125 or 150% in order for my older eyes to read things. I will play with the various schemes in the Mouse Properties | Pointers tab of the Control Panel. I will try that a while and report back.

    Thanks Ted
