I've been experiencing a second buzz about once a minute when running anything with audio (iTunes, flash, YouTube, etc.).

Online research seems to blame the service iaantmon from Intel which The Ultimate Troubleshooter says provides enhanced/accelerated disc access and supports RAID arrays.

I don't have RAID running on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system. Temporarily stopping this service certainly seems to eliminate the buzz. However, I haven't tested disk speed with it stopped.

What are the unintended side effects if I set the startup mode of this service to disabled?
