    Opinion on Cyberpower UPC

Any of you guys own a Cyberpower UPC ? http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/pro...s-systems.html

If so, what do you think of it...

I may get one to replace my APC brand one.

They seem to be reasonably priced and the warranty seems good.

I have been using a Cyberpower UPC at work for over a year now without any issues. Prior to this UPC I had a APC 1500 smartups. I have not noticed any difference in performance. For the price difference between the APC and Cyberpower, I would go with the Cyberpower.

Well, I have had many APC units and they all go bad.
I have two APC 1500's with the LCD and on both of them the LCD stopped working after about a year or less.
    The batteries don't last long..

I know others swear by APC but, in my opinion, for the cost of them they stink.

I have about 5 other APC units that also went bad...

    Thanks for your input..

    Bany,

Interesting! I have an APC 1500, been working for over 3 years and I haven't even replaced the battery yet...although the software is starting to complain about that when I run the self test. I also have a 1250 that's been running even longer w/o problem. As they say YMMV

Gee... I almost forgot about the 3 smaller units I have on the TV, my wife's pc and, one running the cable modem, router, network drive, and my laptop. All over 2 years old w/o problem. I should also mention that I live in an area with fluctuating power so the alarms go off on a fairly regular basis.

I have heard that before RG but my power is pretty stable..

I also have some of the older ones, a couple of 1000's, for my TV and other stuff..I just use the power surge part because the batteries are no good.

MY electronics, TV, dvd player, satellite etc are all plugged into it.

If I need to go on generator power I only have to plug the APC into my dining room outlet.
I don't have the living room on the generator so I just plug the APC into the dining room and I'm back up running again.

The first APC 1500 they replaced on warranty because the LCD stopped working. They let me keep it so I used it for other things..

Once the APC 1500 battery starts acting up it has the tendency to just shut off and your system crashes..

    Bany,

FYI you can get replacement batteries from sources other than APC at more reasonable prices. I've used non APC batteries w/o problem so far.

I know RTG, I found a place that sells them pretty cheap at http://www.batterywholesale.com/apc-...ent-batteries/

I never purchased from them but they seem reasonable and their shipping is pretty low also.
