    Word Document Protection

Ok, I tried to password lock a word document using the standard windows Office 2003 setup.

Tools/options/security I entered a password per instructions saved it and shut it down. When I opened it up no password was necessary. Tried it 3 or 4 times and had no luck. Any ideas.

    NBB,

Works fine for me. A question after you entered the password and pressed the OK button did you get prompted to Verify the password?
If you didn't you probablly pressed the Protect Document... button, this is for a different function and a bit confusing, instead of the OK button.

BTW: You should have put this in the Word Processing forum so I moved it for you.
