    Autologon doesn't happen quickly enough

I have many XP computers in the library setup to auto logon. It works about 99% of the time. The rest of the time it doesn't logon automatically and the Windows logon screen appears instead. It seems like a timing issue of some soft but I don't know where to start.

    Thanks.

Is it the same machine that fails?

Have you checked the startup items using a tool such as Autoruns or WhatInStartup?

Is it possible that the failure occurs other than at bootup? Because if a user logs out when they finish working, the computer will be at the Windows logon screen. That's the only time I have ever seen what appears to be an autologon failure with XP, such as you have described.

I assume that the password hasn't changed, because that would have caused a logon failure.
