Re: Video on webpage (2002)

When I try to open the URL to the .WMV file directly in Windows Media Player, I get these error messages:

The specified stream type is not recognized. (Error=C00D07E2)

Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again. (Error=C00D07E2)

There is a page up at MS that talks about certain server settings for Windows Media formats. Not sure that will help, but maybe: Q288102.

    Video on webpage (2002)

I am using Frontpage 2002 to publish my site. I used video files made with the Windows Movie Maker in XP Pro, and these videos do not show up on the finished pages. I have examples: my main page http://members.tripod.com/kevworld has a short video that should load just under the banner. You can't see the video, but you can hear the audio. I followed the instructions from Frontpage Help - what could I be doing wrong? **UPDATE: Would someone running Windows XP look at this site?****

My machine at work has the same - i tried some of the settings from the knowledge base, perhaps it is just a freak thing - but this should work. I just get the sound and no picture.

    Re: Video on webpage (2002)

Let me clarify: when I visited in the browser, I first got a red x, then the IMG box goes away and the sound plays. When I try to hit the URL with Windows Media Player, then I get that error message.

    Re: Video on webpage (2002)

I would think this would work - but I must have to convert the file from .wmv to some other format. If anyone knows, let me know.

I didn't mess with it too much more - I used something called Dazzle Video Creator 80 and made .avi files. That works great. I just haven't posted them to my site.
