    I have my domain controller in Windows 2k3 ED and can I have my additional domain in Win2k8.

    You can use a W2008R2 domain controller and/or server in your W2003 domain. If you want to upgrade the domain to 2008 functional level all domain controllers must be W2008R2 first. There is no need to upgrade the domain functional level.
