    Scanning Generalized

This will probably be one of the dumbest questions but gonna dive in anyway. When doing any kind of a scan I have always let the scan get the job done. Can you use PC while scan is operating in background or always let scan finish.

HI NBB, it should make no difference. Some AV's have built in scan setting that run in the background usually without any conflict. My AV, Avast can be programmed to scan but, I trust my security apps and only scan if I sense things are not right.

I also have never got into scheduled scans, recently I switched from AVG to MSE. AVG got glitchy on me. Anyway I ran a scan yesterday and it came up with what it called a severe trojan etc. I really did not notice anything wrong with PC and had not done a scan for a couple weeks.

Now that I know it does not hurt anything to use PC while scanning done I will switch over to 1 manual scan a week.
