simultaneous doc editing by two or more people (MS Word 2000)

Is it possible to have collaborated editing of a MS Word document...2 people editing on a doc at the same time?

Not in the versions up to Word 2000. I have not seen Word XP so I don't know about it.

The closest you will get is to break the document into smaller parts and then use a linking method (possibly even master documents) to combine all the separate files into one. I don't recommend any of these though - more trouble than their worth.

I had fears that that was the case. Thanks for the link idea. We'll give that a try.
