    Question Calculate % difference

    Hello

The attached sheet shows the months from January to December.

The Numbers given represent the number of tickets closed off.

The RED shaded cells are tickets that could not be closed.

How can I calculate the % Change, hopefully a reduction in the Number of red boxes?

    TIA.

    BJ

It seems confusing because I used the same file.

But it is another sheet on the same file!

    Sorry for the confusion.

I think the aatachment above which is also the attachment for your similar post will give you what you need. Make sure you have the revised version.

    Dear Maud,

This is very nice. But please advise the reason for dividing by 15 (rows 43 onwards)?

What I mean is, where does the number 15 come from?

    Thanks.

    BJ,
In each month (Jan-May) you had displayed 15 tickets horizontally per month. I just continued the same by adding the rest of the months (June-December). In january, you had 6 open tickets (red) out of 15 OR 6/15 = .4 I change the format of the cells to percentages which changed it to 40%. The rest of the percentages are calculated the same way. You can hide the numbers at the end of the rows by changin the forecolor of the cells to white.

    Arrow

    That's great. Thanks.

I have a small twist on this. Attached is another sheet.

I need to show the +/- variation between the months as a percentage.

Good to have the + and - symbols showing as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    BJ.

    Variations per month in percentages

In the worsheet cells C4-M4 have the calculations placed and the cells formated to percentages. Can there be a negative percentage between the months? Only if the month has a negative number. Is that a possible scenario?

If the month is more than the previous it will be greater than 100%. If it is less than the previous month, it will be less that 100%.
