    Unhappy Canít Disable unwanted Plug-in / Add-on

Recent pop-up behavior when using IE 9.0.12 caused me to look at the Add-on manager function in IE. There I found the culprit, ďShopping Sidekick PluginĒ but when I select it, both the Disable and Enable buttons are grayed out.

How can I disable this plug-in. It is also present and active in FireFox (18.0.1) but the Add-on/Plug-in manager there doesnít even show it.

See if the app is listed in Control Panel> Programs and Features. If It is, right click on it and select uninstall.

Manual removal instructions are listed here:

Note that they involve registry edits so make a Restore Point first if you go this route. You could also try the following programs to see if the find it:
    Malwarebytes
    Superantispyware
    Spybot Search and Destroy

Uninstalling it via Control Panel worked. I hadn't even looked there, assuming that an add-in / plug-in wouldn't show up. I see I was mistaken.
