    Want shortcut to InPrivate Browsing

    I'm trying to create a desktop shortcut to I.E. InPrivate Browsing on my Windows 8.1 RT. I did some searching and came up with this but its not working.

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -private

    Ideas?

    I just noticed too that something else is going on. When I open InPrivate, I used to not get the Favorites Bar as I do in normal I.E. Also, when I set up the tabs before in InPrivate they had no effect on those in I.E., and now those change in normal I.E. as well, which is similar to the way that I. E. in Windows 10 operates.... WTH?

    Maybe the put the parameter inside the quotes

    The -private option should not be within the quotation marks. What happens when you use the shortcut? Define "not working".

    Your exact shortcut works for me with IE11 on Win7.

    My route to it is right-click my taskbar IE icon and select "Start InPrivate Browsing", suits me as I don't use it often.

    Or you could use the Ctrl+Shift+P shortcut.
