screen and print hard to read

Santa brought us a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 8. In some programs the screen is very difficult to read. In Belarc Advisor the print on the form is fine but the variable data specific to my machine is too tightly spaced and unclear. Printing to my Epson Printer also produces difficult text. A png of a portion of the screen is attached. I checked the screen resolution and the "Clear type" settings and they are all at the default or recommended setting. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Ouch ! Paul! That printing is indeed tough on the eyes. There is a spot on W-8, where one has to synchronise the font with the system. Did you do it ? I am off trying to find it again, when I do, I will get back to you. JP.

Back at you, Paul. Into control Panel -> Fonts -> top left, 3rd option, Adjust Clear type font. I hope that it does the trick for you. If not, get back here. JP.

Once more, Paul. Give a try at a different font. Same path as above, a bit of reading involved. Not the font here, in Control Panel. JP

Ted, you must be young fellow : >>> I will remember it now. <<<

I have trouble remembering anything. I was very surprised to see YOU giving me a gold star, I thought Paul had. On second read, I noticed your name. Thanks.

But I still owe you great deal. Now, I wonder if Paul saved his font ??? JP.
