verifying email address in windows live from outlook

i just purchased a new computer with windows 8. I used outlook express on my old computer, and when setting it up on the new one, which is windows live, it asks me to verify the account, but I can't get into the account to verify it because it has not been verified! What do I do??

    Sheila, Welcome to the Lounge.

OE is an old email client from the XP era that has not been used since XP. Outlook Express is not Outlook. Outlook is the email client included with MS Office. You cannot use OE on the Win 8 PC (Neither can OE be used on Vista or Win 7). Did you download Windows Live Essentials (Windows Live Mail (WLM) component) from this site?

How have you set your PC up, as a local account or as a MS account? To access WLM, you should have set the PC up using a MS account. If you used a local account this might be your problem.
