    Image Capture is Too Narrow?

I've got 2 "capture" questions I hope someone can answer:

    1. What's the easiest way to capture a "scrolling" WWW page (i.e., - a WWW page that requires us to scroll down to see completely)? I've tried Snag-It but I can't figure out how to get it to save a "full-size" image (see #2).

    2. How can I capture a shot of a WWW page so that the I don't need to use my mouse to make it full-size?

Currently, when I capture a shot of a WWW page (using Snag-It or Windows Snipping Tool), the resulting capture appears to be about an inch wide, at most. When I use the mouse, I can get portions of it to be readable, and even close to the size of the original WWW page, but I can't figure out how to generate a capture without that reduction.

I've tried to open my captures in Windows Photo Viewer and Picasa, but all of them show the narrow capture. If I use PrtScr to make the capture, I can then paste the result into WORD and it looks okay, but I can't save the image separately, and I can't capture a scrolling WWW page.

    Thanks much for any help!

    Alan

    Hi Roadrunner,

Yes, thanks, I have indeed tried that and it does work. The quality of the capture isn't as nice as a good JPG, though, so I'm still trying to figure out a better way to do JPG captures.

    Thanks again,

    Alan

Hi Alan, another method is to copy the URL and paste it into Wordpad save it as .docx This will give you a clickable link where you can also add some text as a reminder of the content. My Links.docx

PicPick will do a scrolling window screen capture. The function works OK in Internet Explorer and Chrome but unfortunately won't run in Firefox since the recent update. Perhaps PicPick will provide an update soon. It is a regularly updated program.

If installing PicPick, be sure to look out for the bundled homepage, toolbar and search engine offers. Untick the boxes if they aren't wanted.

Edit: I should mention that the program is free for private use. See the download page.

    Thanks, Mart!

Naturally I'm using Firefox (18.0) so I will periodically check to see if there's an update for Picpick.

    Thanks again,

    Alan
