IE not opening in maximized size (5.50.4807.2300 SP2)

    Greetings to all,

    Thanks for your assistance loungers!

I have a Dell Dimension 4100, P3, 256 mb ram, Win ME with I.E. 5.50.4807.2300;SP2. When I click on a local html file the browser opens up as a minimized window. I want it to open in a maximized window. When I do a 'Start|Programs|Internet Explorer' it opens in a maximized window. I use NetZero and Juno (free ISP's). I know they open multiple windows with ads, etc. However, they too open in a maximized window (well, with the banner on top).

Is there a setting where I can make I.E. open in a maximized window when I click on a local (C html file?

    Thank you all!

    Hi
Try this. Open normally in your less than maximized state. Release the lock (centere button, top right) so that you can drag the window to full size. Lock. Close. Next time it opens it should 'remember' your setting and open full size. If this doesn't work, get a file called IE New Windows Maximize from my web site.

Try this, open a file, resize it, by dragging the corners and/or edges to the desired size. Do NOT use the "max" button in the upper right corner. Close it by using the menu "File, Close". This should have saved the window size. Then try opening another file to see if it worked. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Merc, DaveA,

Thank you. Your suggestions worked. However, that causes the 'minimized' view to be at an almost maximum window and I lose having a minimized view. It used to always open in maximum (normal) view or click the minimum window and toggle as needed. Hey, it's just one more click to maximize. Again, thank you!

    Hi
Try the above idea : when one of your minimized bars comes up, try dragging it larger. If not, under IE Tools/Internet Options/Advanced try the effect of checking 'Re-use Windows for launching Shortcuts'. If this doesn't do anything, look to your Folder Views in Explorer and change to 'Open each Folder in the Same Window.'
