Windows 8 can't view files or images

I had to reformat my drive between Win 7 and installing Win 8, then brought in all my files from backup. When I try to view a file or image from the backup I don't have ownership. I don't want to edit every file to change ownership. Has anyone figured a way to set ownership for entire drive and all files and directories ??

You can try clicking on the top level folder and take ownership. I have done this in the past. It sometimes takes quite a while depending on how many files are there.
