    Re: Freeware Virus Scanner

But would you recomend ditching InoculateIt in favour of this, if I've got an active copy of InoculateIt installed?

FWIW, I am still using InocutateIt on Win98 but I am using AVG on WinXP.

Grisoft also has a free donation program for not-for-profit/registered charities. This gives unlimited use of AVG Pro to the organization once approved.

    Freeware Virus Scanner

    Title: AVG 6
    Version: 6.298
    Platform: Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP
    Download Size: 4.8Mb
    Cost: Free
Registration : you need to register to have the Serial Number emailed to you.
    Source :<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.html>GriSoft</A>
Instructions : Download version 6. Then update with sig file avg6298fu.exe (13th November 01)

Comments : though the link is also on my site, I have not made the download available from there. Users have to go to the home site anyway to get the Ser. No.

Now compatible with Windows XP. I recommend this now that InoculateIt is no longer available to new users.

    Re: Freeware Virus Scanner

    Hi
If you have InoculateIt already installed, I would not think it worthwhile disturbing it. However, it does not work properly under XP. This is why I found the new version of AVG so welcome.
(In my post above the sentence including 'replace' was ambiguous, so I modified i)t.

I used IIt extensively under Win2k (until I bought NAV) and found it more than adequate.

    Rgds
