    Moving Data Off C Drives

I dual boot Win 7 Pro 64 bit and Win 8 Pro 64 bit.

In each case I would like to move data off the C drives to alternate locations. I know how to do it for Documents and other personal folders, and Programs, but can I do it for AppData, and if so can I do it for the Local, Local Low and Roaming AppData folders, and if not which of these, if any? Also, would moving AppData folders have any adverse consequences?

    Advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks and regards, Roy

This sounds like a job for BBearen (cue French horns).

Start here maybe, and get your line dancing shoes on; drink plenty of fluids, etc.

Any folder that is not movable will not have a location tab. Some of these app data folders can be moved, some can not.

bbearren's procedure is NOT for the faint of heart. It is for advanced users only IMO. Follow it with care.

Indeed. Read and heed the warnings.

I'm working on Windows 8 currently. The procedure breaks IE10, and I'm tinkering with that aspect before I add Windows 8 to my web site.

Create a fresh drive image before making system changes, in case you need to start over!
