What happened to email groups in Win Live Mail Desktop?

I installed WLM desktop (local email client) in Win7 and managed to import my old email and email addresses from Windows Mail that I had in my old Vista computer.

All's basically well (except a few quirks/feature missing that I used to like.)

But today I wanted to send out an email to an email contact group that I used to have in Windows Mail under Vista and I could not find the group as a Send-to address. The individual members are there.

Should the group have been imported?
Am I looking for it in the wrong places?

Is it possible to create an email group in Win Live Mail? If so, how?

    All help appreciated.

This is weird. I followed those directions for creating a group, but when I am in the Contacts the word "New" (which I was directed to use and makes sense)
    is grayed out (inactive).
    Any ideas?

In Windows Live Mail 2012, groups are called categories: What happened to contact groups?

Did some more research and it seems that as Bruce stated they are now called categories. Simply click on the category icon on the ribbon in the Contacts window. To create a new group.
