    Office 2013 Retail License NON TRANSFERABLE!

    So says the Office Watch Newsletter...according to the License Agreement.

    Yep, they want everyone to move to a subscription. If you have several PCs, a subscription (usable in 5 computers, which it seems you can change as you need), seems to be a reasonable option.

    From the above-linked story:

    We do not sell our software or your copy of it we only license it. Under our license we grant you the right to install and run that one copy on one computer (the licensed computer) for use by one person at a time, but only if you comply with all the terms of this agreement. Our software license is permanently assigned to the licensed computer...You may not transfer the software to another computer or user.
    I won't be switching to Office 2013. I can only imagine what might happen if, for whatever reason, I purchase another computer and decide to move Office 2013 to the new computer. This is a definite possibility as my present computer is pretty lame.
