    Microsoft Office updates

I have a Gateway desktop computer running Win 7 Home Premium. My computer does not have Microsoft Office or any of its components (e.g. Word). It does, however, have MS Word, Powerpoint and Excell viewers. My problem is that Microsoft persists in sending me security updates to Office (7 at last count) which it insists I need. I can download these updates but I cannot install them. This has been going on for several years and it is very annoying. How can I solve this problem?

It's really simple: Go to Windows Update / Change Settings and uncheck the item under Microsoft Update: Give me updates for Microsoft products...
