    Adw. Cleaner

    Advice please.
    Has anyone used Adw.Cleaner by Xplode, Adware and Toolbar remover?
    Have'nt tried it myself, just wondering.

    I've never used it, but the above site recommends it for specific tasks.
    I would consider the above site knowledgeable and trustworthy.

    I downloaded and ran it out of (boredom) maybe?

    It's a portable executable under 600kb in size. It specifically looks for adware and other unwanted programs.
    After it's finished scanning it will produce a text file that looks something like this:

    The only thing it found on my system was OpenCandy, which I think is part of "Freemake Video Downloader" version I have.
    I've found that the above mentioned freeware is worth the hassle. I chose not to remove anything because I don't want to chance breaking the freeware.

    I'll give it a cautious thumbs up because one should always research what one deletes, and not too many people are good at doing that.

    I agree we sometimes delete in a hurry as it seems the easiest thing to do.
