    Office 2013 Color Scheme

Has anyone heard of Microsoft intentions to offer other than very bright, bright and still bright (Normal, light grey and dark grey) for Office 2013?

Do others here feel that this "color scheme" (if that is what MS calls it) is just plain hard on the eyes?

There have been no talk of changes to the color schemes that I've seen. They certainly are limited.

Criticism of these pale "themes" is widespread (and in some cases very harsh) in other forums (fora?) on the Web. Hopefully Microsoft will offer a better choice of contrasting colours as patches/updates sooner rather than later.

See also my earlier post: http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...cheme-so-bland

There is plenty of criticism on this Microsoft forum too: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/o...0-c058d6299a61

I'd like to add my disappointment with the color scheme options. I just moved from Office 2007 to 2013 and am having a lot of trouble getting used to the glare on the screen. I wonder how much time they spent on creating the themes?

Windows has its own color scheme, which users can select or adjust to their heart's content. I've always been baffled that Microsoft thinks it's a good idea for its own flagship application to ignore that standard, which it defined itself.

As for replacing the standard with a bad design that users can't change at all... let's not go there.

I also note that a "bug" in Access 2013 means you can't change its colours at all!!! (The criticism of the pale Office 2013 themes has really grown considerably in various forums; but Microsoft's only response to date has been that they have no intention of changing the present choices; or adding to them.....)
