I can think of situations where they would be exactly what I would want. If I have documents that aren't confidential, and I wanted to have them always available everywhere I go, then it sounds like an ideal situation. For example, the church youth group working on schedules, presentations, publication of materials, etc. That sort of thing is not confidential, and it fits in very nicely with what OWA & Skydrive have to offer -- collaboration, from multiple locations.

On the other hand, if the pastor is counselling parishoners and documenting the counselling sessions, I wouldn't recommend OWA, because of confidentiality reasons.

Likewise, I wouldn't want my CPA or tax preparer to utilize OWA and Skydrive for my financial info.

I can agree with you somewhat on the mrjimphelps, only because what is in SkyDrive, also shows up on my Windows Phone, and no I do not lock my phone. I suppose I should however. That said, I would think that the same would be true if you are using the SkyDrive App (assuming there is one) for either an iPhone or Android, or Blackberry.

Now remember that my use is strictly personal. Corporate wise may be a whole different ball game.

Other wise I use the web apps through SkyDrive Daily and have no problem with them for my personal use. I collaborated with a friend of mine on an excel spreadsheet, and we shared it through SkyDrive, and it went smoothly. I also do the same with OneNote, on a continual basis. On my laptop I am using Office 2010 but only because you do need a desktop program in order to open/edit the web app on your desktop for more heavy lifting if you know what I mean, and because if you click to open a word or any Office Document from the SkyDrive Desktop app, it won't open unless you do have Office on your desktop.
As for Office 365, my answer would be, at least for me, Why when I've got all I need through SkyDrive for free. I don't know if any of you got a call from MSFT while you were trying Office 365, asking what you thought, and if you thought you would buy. I did, and told them I doubted I would, simply for the reason I just stated. I asked them to justify it for me, and they couldn't. So as of now there really isn't any compelling reason for me at least to go with O365.

You should lock your phone, John, if you don't mind me saying so. I lock mine, doesn't make sense to risk anyone going over your info if you lose it. The lock and the possibility for remote erasing of the phones, give me pretty much all the confidence I need to use my phone with whatever I need.

It may seem an inconvenience to have to type the code when you need to access the phone, but you'll quickly adapt and you can define the number of minutes it will remain unlocked to best suit your habits. Works pretty well.

I did know about it because I am into good docs. I will surely have to test it and see how it works.
