Smile Access Make Table does not Retain data Type

I have a VBA procedure that uses a query to make a new table. One of the fields in the original table is Yes/No but in the new table it is text. I cannot figure out how to coerce the data type in the new table to Yes/No. Would appreciate any suggestions thanks

Unfortunately, using a make table query doesn't let you define the data type for fields - the Access engine makes that choice for you based on limited information. I would suggest you change to an append query, and run a delete query just before you run the append query. That also lets you maintain a primary key, as make table queries don't add a primary key to the table they create.

Thanks Wendell, that sounds like a good solution. I will give up the idea of a make table.
