All of a sudden, when I try to restart Windows 2000, the machine goes into standby mode rather than rebooting. I've checked all the power management and startup/recovery settings and can't find anything that could be causing this.
Anybody here have any ideas?

Can't find anything immediately - I'm still looking.
Have you done the usual things, like run a chkdsk and re-installed SP2?
Installed any new hardware or software? (Came across an oblique reference to HP-CDWriter causing standby problems.)
