    Word 2010 will not insert symbols

    When I click on Insert - Symbols a block opens up and when I click on a symbol in that block, it inserts as it should. But, when I click on more symbols and get a multitude of choices as I should, singly or dbl-clicking on a symbol will not highlight it. The symbol in the upper left block of the group of symbols is highlighted, and that is the only one I can insert. The symbol I want must be highlighted before I can insert it. Thanks for your help.

    Don't know what to say, mine works fine.

    You may want to try repairing office. From their Website;

    Windows 7

    1.Click Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    2.Click the Office program you want to repair, and then click Change.
    3.Do one of the following:
    In Office 2010, click Repair > Continue.
    In Office 2013, click either Quick Repair or Online Repair.

    You might need to restart your computer after the repair is complete.
