    Live Tiles no longer live

    Hi to all,

The Live Tiles on my Win8 Start Screen are longer live and permanently connect to the internet. All I have is a colored square or rectangle with no identification of what information they are suppose to convey. If I click on the blank Tile it then connects to the internet, opens up in full screen and provides the requested data but as long as it is just a Tile on the Start Screen nothing happens. I must have inadvertently clicked on some setting and turned this function off. I know my connection to the internet is working and active because I can download my Email or Google search. Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem? Than you. Respectfully, Graphics Guy (DELL 8500 64 bit computer, Windows 8 Pro)

Are you running FastPictureViewer or SageThumb? Google tells me there have been related problems to these two graphic programs. This might be a starting point for troubleshooting your problem.

    Hi rmonroe36,

Thank you for the speedy reply. I do have Sage Thumbs on my computer so I can view my PS CS6 PSD images. I am a newbie with computers so I am not sure how to proceed but I will visit Sage Thumbs and see if they have any information on their site.
BTW: your user name and location intrigues me, I was born, schooled and spent the first 18 years of my life near the Fishkill area, a little town called Monroe. Respectfully, Graphics Guy

Double check that your Notifications settings are ON. On the Start Screen use Win+C (bring up the charms), select Settings | Change PC settings (at bottom) | Notifications

    See http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/w...t-problems-app

If none of the suggestions work, run the app trouble shooter link at the bottom of the page.

    Hi to all,
Many thanks to all that helped me with my problem. I finally solved the problem with help from the internet. I have my Live Tiles back and it was simple.
In case anyone else has the same problem here is how I fixed it on my computer.

The culprit was SageThumbs. I went into Control Panel>SageThumbs (32 bit)>SageThumbs Options and removed the check mark from the .PNG entry, clicked on OK to close it and restarted my computer. All of my Live Tiles are back on and working and only time will tell if they remain so.

I also checked out both a .PSD and a .PNG image file in my Pictures Library and both images appear so another program must now be producing the .PNG images and not SageThumbs.

Thanks again to all that assisted. Respectfully, Graphics Guy
