Question compare two date/time stamps and calculate elapsed time

A record (cell) is entered and auto date/time stamp appears in row B.
A record (cell) in the same row is designated as complete in row L. When Row L has a value, auto date/time stamp is entered in row M

I'd like Row M to reflect the elapsed time between rows B and L. ie/how many days/hours/minutes passed from the beginning to closing of the case.

    adding attachment

Additional struggle is that with current code addressing other needs, then adding more code for date calculation, it disables other code....I have attached the spreadsheet for review.

Unless I grossly misunderstand your requirements, you don't need any VBA. Date/time stamps are stored internally as double precision floating point numbers. You can subtract one time stamp from another, and apply formatting. See the last column in the intake worksheet in my attached revision.

    Shanny,

Very nice! With very few modifications, this could easily be adapted as a ticket program for a help desk.

There are scores of applications. The time sheet on which I record billable time also resembles this worksheet, and does math on times, although, in that case, the start and end times are within the same day. Even when I am working past Midnight, I start a new day at midnight, and set the ending time of the last entry of the day to 23:59.
